Diversity Heals
Phil Fischer & Brian Miller
Hello Catch Magazine readers,
We are honored to present you with a special Veterans Day Catch Magazine issue.
Project Healing Waters has created an essay this year called “Diversity Heals.” Diversity Heals is the story of a group of six disabled U.S. military veterans, representing four branches of the military, including three women, three men, three Project Healing Waters programs, for three days of fly fishing on three diverse Central Oregon storied fly fishing waters.
The word ‘diversity’ can take on so many meanings….diversity of race, of opinion, of tradition, of faith….there is no one and only correct definition. Over the years, we’ve brought you stories from all over the world and from nearly every continent. It’s easy to realize that fly fishing is a cross-cultural sport. It’s as diverse as the variety of landscapes and as varied as the number of unique anglers and different fish species on the planet. For the past 15 years, Catch has put value on representing this variety.
Today we celebrate the patchwork of people who have sacrificed their time, safety and lives for our great country The United States of America. Thank you to those who have served and who are serving today. We hope you are inspired, motivated to heal and of course inspired to go fly fishing by this Veterans Day issue.
With gratitude,
Todd and Kelley Moen
