Rachel Lee
Born in South Korea and later moving to New Zealand at 14, Rachel embarked on a remarkable artistic journey that has defined her unique style and passion for fish art. After settling in New Zealand, she pursued her love for art at the prestigious Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland, where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2009. Following her graduation, Rachel returned to South Korea, where she honed her skills as a graphic designer and illustrator at a game company. However, her heart remained in New Zealand, and she eventually returned for her marriage.
In 2016, a new chapter began for Rachel in Hamilton, New Zealand, with the birth of her second daughter. Seeking to maintain her artistic identity amidst the demands of motherhood, she found inspiration in an unexpected request from her husband: to draw a Snapper. This simple request ignited her passion for fish art, leading to a transformative journey of artistic exploration and personal growth. Her journey is a reminder that inspiration can be found in the most unexpected places, unlocking new dimensions of creativity and self-discovery.
