Catch Magazine Issue #85

Catch Magazine Issue #85

Issue #85 is live!

Inside this edition, we’ll take you to some of the world’s greatest flyfishing destinations. Marcos Hlace is a photographer from Bariloche, Patagonia and he captures the region’s classic history in his essay “Legends of the Upper Limay.”  Hlace affirms its reputation as the birthplace of modern fly fishing in Patagonia with incredible shots of gigantic brown and rainbow trout.

Brian O’Keefe shares his simplistic flyfishing adventure on the lakes of New Zealand’s North Island.  His essay covers the practical guide for touring “old-school style” in a makeshift campervan in search of NZ lake trout.  A veteran NZ visitor, O’Keefe shares valuable tips and tricks for a minimalist flyfishing trip to this incredibly special destination.

Paupa New Guinea (PNG) is our next location, sporting waters that hold giant trevally, bluefin trevally, dogtooth tuna, napoleon wrasse, milkfish and more. Felix Hansvencl shares a photo essay about Paupa New Guenea’s Bat Bat Territories.

Finally, we’re thrilled to share Todd’s newest film called “Stella’s Way: A Canadian Flyfishing Journey.”  The angler on camera is none other than the youngest Moen, Stella, who has been flyfishing her entire life and finally gets the chance to work with Todd to produce a T-Motion video for Catch Magazine.  Her trip into BC’s far north for trout, pike and grayling will entertain you, and it will remind you that fly fishing is for all ages and abilities. The only thing really required for success is patience. And Stella’s got it!

We hope you enjoy this 85th edition of Catch Magazine.
