Since 2017, Todd has captured elite anglers in the world’s most remote waters for Catch Magazine. But his latest film for Issue #88, “The Long Way Home,” proves that the most profound stories are often right in front of us.
Born from a serendipitous detour to family favorite waters in British Columbia after a college drop-off, this film focuses on an exceptional rising talent: Todd’s own daughter, Stella Moen.“The Long Way Home” follows Stella as she treks into a pristine backcountry creek, casting a parachute Adams for native rainbow, cutthroat, and cutbow trout.
More than a fishing film, it’s a raw, beautiful reflection on youth, family connection, and a father sharing a priceless memory with his daughter. Todd captures a next-generation experience many anglers might relate to, passing down the sport of fly fishing to their children or grandchildren.
Special thanks to Skwala, Korkers, and R.L. Winston Fly Rods for their support, and to Super Pacific, Oregon Outdoor Designs, and Pacific Upfitters for helping make it possible to comfortably work and travel from the road. And to Kelley and Charlie for fostering Stella’s lifelong passion for the water.
Special thanks to Skwala Fishing, Scientific Anglers, R.L. Winston Rod Company,
Korkers, Super Pacific, Oregon Outdoor Designs and Pacific Upfitters
for supporting this film project.

Todd’s combined interest in film and fish began as a kid: he explored and filmed the big waters of western Washington and the blue-ribbon trout streams of his birthstate Montana. Years of traveling the far ends of the globe as a professional videographer and burning the midnight oil to design web media, Todd is living his dream with the production of Catch Magazine.
